Nothing encourages the spirit of the holidays like music, and nothing creates special holiday memories like listening to that music with those you love.   The Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs is offering two opportunities this December for you to share the music of the holidays with friends and family.   At 7:00 p.m. on December 6, virtuosos   pianist Naomi Niskala and violinist Salley Koo bring an evening of classical music to the stage.  At 7:00 p.m. on December 13.  The Bay Singers Choir, lift their voices to bring you the beautiful music of December.

World renowned pianist Naomi Niskala and violinist Salley Koo present an evening of music that spans the lyrical works of Schubert to the heartfelt romances of Dvorak, and even the syncopated, jazzy American Rag. These two musicians return to the Center for the Arts Live! performance space with a new program of music for the holidays. The musical synergy created by training together for years at Yale, makes Niskala and Koo a treat for the ears.

Both Niskala and Koo have a long list of accolades. From teaching to performing, each has mastered their craft. Niskala has appeared as soloist and chamber musician across the globe, with stints in Europe, the Middle East, the United States, Canada and Japan. Additionally, her performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio and NPR’s “Performance Today”. Her release of the first complete recordings of Helps’ solo piano was chosen as one of its 2007 Best of the Year cds. Her recent performances include the San Francisco Symphony Chamber Series at Davies Symphony Hall, Spectrum Concerts Berlin at Philharmonic Hall in Germany, and soloist with the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic of Russia.

Violinist Salley Koo is also no stranger to performance and teaching. She maintains her career performing solo and chamber music. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 from Harvard-RadcliffeUniversity. Koo also earned her Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees from YaleUniversity. Her current educational pursuits have taken her to StonyBrookUniversity where she is working on her D.M.A. under the guidance of Pamela Frank and Philip Setzer.

Then join local favorites, The Bay Singers, to celebrate the many holidays of the season with their 40-person choir.  Conductor Bruce Galbraith has planned a varied program, so the audience is sure to enjoy it all – and might even join in!
Tickets for both performances are still available, and refreshments, including beer and wine, will be available at both shows. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Open seating is available to individuals and reserved seating is available for groups of four or more.
