The Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs has hit the power switch to light up a season of live entertainment in Bonita Springs with tickets for a full year of performances now available for purchase. From local comedy troupes to Grammy Award winning Delta Blues performers, the Center for Performing Arts Bonita Springs is poised and ready to launch residents and visitors into a season filled with comedy, music and theater.

Following last year’s highly successful season, the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs (CFABS) completed the first phase of renovations to its 400 seat Hinman Auditorium and is putting the finishing touches on renovations to the 200 seat Moe Auditorium and Film Center that include a grand, inviting entrance, the expansion of the lobby area, the addition of a dedicated dance studio, a new sound and light control booth, an exterior covered pre-function space with a versatile outdoor seating area.

These upscale enhancements make the Moe Auditorium & Film Center the perfect home for the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs season of exciting events and performances that include the inaugural “Bonita Springs International Film Festival (BIFF)” in February 2016 and the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers beginning this September. The Moe Auditorium continues to be home to their Films for Film Lovers series which continues every Monday night at 7:00pm showing the best of foreign and independent films.

“We’re offering more of what our community enjoyed last season says” CFABS’ Theater Director Craig Price. “Then raising the bar by adding Grammy winning performers, a Chamber Music series, monthly international Jazz group performances and a Classical Music Series, just to name a few of the great events lined up for this year.”

Great LIVE! Performances get underway in October with four-time Grammy Award winning Delta Blues artist Tab Benoit! In Riders in the Skyaddition to a variety of national and international musical acts CFABS’ schedule includes Sunday afternoon “Meet the Composers” Classical Music Series concerts. Jazz lovers will enjoy monthly Jazz performances from across the globe and theater lovers will experience a season full of great performances.

Expanded multi-week runs for Community Theater Performances are schedules for 2015 founded on last year’s sold out shows for both “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” and “Nunsense The Musical” Murder Mystery Comedy Dinner and Brunch Theater productions of “Who Killed the Rabbi?,” get the show on the road for CFABS with a dinner performance on October 16, 6:30pm and a brunch performance on October 18, 11:30am, 2015; 7:00pm. The classic show “Arsenic & Old Lace,” is scheduled for March 2016. Comedy continues the first Saturday of every month with “Improv Tonight” at 8:00pm and “Improv Café” at 3:00pm offering youth and family comedy.

Those who join the Centers for the Arts for the first time as an individual member receive a free 4-, 5-, or 6- week class, and those who join for the first time as a family member receive a free 4-, 5-, or 6- week class and two free tickets to a Live! performance. The Centers for the Arts offers this benefit for first time members and it is for a limited time only. The class and performance must be used before December 31, 2015.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater” October 16, 6:30pm (Dinner) & October 18, 11:30am (Brunch), “Deb & the Dynamics,” October 17, Tab Benoit-Grammy Winning Delta Blues Artist,” October 21, 8:00pm,“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” screening, October 30 at the CVABS and the “Films for Film Lovers” foreign and independent film series on Monday evenings. The first in the series of Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers “I will Dance,” on September 15, 7:00pm.
